The Birdy lamp series, designed in 1952 in a modernist style, includes wall, table, and floor lamps. Originally produced and sold by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico, the table lamp received the prestigious Golden Medal at the Milan triennale in 1954.
In 2013, a decision was made to reintroduce this design classic, preserving its original shape and highly functional features that made it beloved. The Birdy lamp series is available in white or grey color with a steel finish, and black color with black or brass metal finish, offering a contemporary revival of this iconic lighting design.

It looks like the picture, but is a lot bigger than I expected from the pictures. Think like twice the size. Works well and is cute, just too big for a night stand I think.

The lamp has a nice finish, it feels sturdy, and it gives off a lot of light. Make sure you measure your surface...this is a big lamp if your intent is to use it on a small desk or table.
